Pastoral Information

Welfare

My name is Georgina Harrison and I am your Family Liaison Officer.

My role is to manage pupil attendance and punctuality and to support our families that have difficulties in this area.  I also administer your child’s medical needs during the school day, together with making sure they are safe and well.

Our safeguarding policy and procedures are fully embedded across the school and I work with pupils, parents/carers who may have challenges and difficulties in their lives.

I am here to support you, so please come and see me if you need my assistance.  I look forward to meeting you.

Wellbeing

At Goose Green we commit to promoting resilience and positive wellbeing for all children and members of staff. We believe that good wellbeing means that we feel happy and healthy (both mentally and physically) and are motivated and engaged to learn.

Children build resilience and are supported to deal effectively with daily troubles and life’s challenges knowing that a spectrum of feelings and emotions are normal. Using a whole school approach, we strive to create an environment where the school community is aware and has an understanding of how poor mental health can affect both teaching and learning. Placing an emphasis on how physical and mental health are closely connected, children learn to recognise that we must place equal value on keeping physically and mentally healthy.

We support those children who may have concerns, worries or anxieties over a longer period of time or when traumatic events happen outside of school. This may be in the form of group or 1:1 learning mentor support, or specialist support from highly skilled external professionals, such as art therapy or school counselling, and through working with families.
